Tips For Attending An Equine Expo - Even If You're Not An Exhibitor You Can Market Your Horse Business

Horse expos are a great place to network and market your horse business - even if you don't have an exhibitor booth.  The key is to attend the expo and take advantage of the hundreds if not thousands of horse owners who are there.

Here are some marketing tips:
  • Use yourself as a walking billboard:  Wear a jacket, coat, hat, etc. with the name of your horse business, stable, stallion, etc. on it.
  • Take your business cards.  Strike up conversations wherever you're at - whether it's waiting for a hotdog at the food booth, or sitting in on a training demonstration. Finish your chat by handing out a business card.
  • Take a flyer.  Wall space by the demonstration arena and restrooms are a great place to post a flyer for your stallion, boarding stable, blanket repair business - or whatever it is you do in the horse industry.  Take good tape so it sticks if the walls are cement block.  Make sure you make a flyer with pull tabs with the name of your business on it and your number.
  • If you have pens with the name of your horse business - take them and leave some wherever you see a registration table for an event or for a drawing.
